This takes First Place. Morrie's command of the medium is evident in this Multi-Stone inlay masterwork. Generous amounts of Australian Opal with lots of fire is enhanced with Gold Leaf, Lapis, Turquoise, Coral, Sugilite and Malachite. You can see the beautiful, high gloss shine from the hand rubbing of the almost mineral-hard Desert Ironwood. The view on top shows Fossil Coral on the top rim, Turquoise below that and Australian Opal bordered by Lapis to the left. Below are streaks of Malachite.
